Let us focus strictly on searching Exchange mail box content… Exchange content is indexed by when Perspective is designed to link to the Exchange mail box using Cached Exchange Mode. When an Exchange e-mail account is in Cached Exchange Mode, the mail box contents are synchronized to the local .oust information file. It is this local Outlook Support Phone Number information file that is indexed by . does not index the mail box store directly. Why am I still talking about ? Because it is still relevant, even when using technology editions of Perspective and Exchange.
Search in Perspective
In Cached Exchange Mode, Perspective still concerns desktop look for indexes… and it concerns Exchange and Exchange Online using FAST Search.
Assuming FAST Search is not impaired by plan, Perspective actually submits simultaneous concerns to both and FAST Search. But only one set of outcomes are shown by Perspective. Assuming that the FAST Internet look for engine outcomes is returned in regular basis (about seconds), these are given precedence. But, if the FAST Search timeout is reached before a server response, then the look for outcomes is shown. Alternatively, Perspective also assesses the performance of the network relationship and if it determines there is latency, it defaults to displaying the outcomes. But wait, there’s more! Some look for scopes set look for requirements that cannot be processed by FAST. If you set the opportunity to All Perspective Items, Sub folders, or All Mailboxes Perspective defaults to outcomes. The look for opportunity is set next to the Search written text box, as shown here:
Additionally, if you kind look for requirements that are not sustained by FAST, Perspective returns outcomes (of course, assuming supports the criteria). For example, Perspective supports the use of natural language concerns, such as received: this season. However, Perspective FAST look for does not. Therefore, if you submit received: this season, Perspective instantly displays look for outcomes. To use FAST choose a similar question, you would need to submit the following criteria: received.
To recap, Perspective uses FAST look for and/or returns outcomes using FAST, except if any one of the following conditions are true:
- You are connected to a mail box on Exchange Server or earlier
- Outlook is connected to the mail box in on the world wide web mode
- The FAST look for function is impaired via plan or local customer computer registry establishing Outlook Technical Support Phone Number
(more on administering the function below)
- The FAST look for question outcomes are not returned in regular basis (about seconds)
- Outlook assesses the performance of the network relationship and determines there is latency
- You are searching a secondary mail box (there’s an exception to this exception, as explained later)
- The look for opportunity is set to All Perspective Items, Sub folders, or All Mailboxes
- The look for requirements is not sustained by FAST search
Am I seeing or FAST results?
To determine which outcomes Perspective has chosen to show off, assuming both concerns were submitted, you can focus on a small interface cue:
If the outcomes shown are those generated by FAST, the bottom of your concept record show the following cue:
If the outcomes shown are those generated by , the bottom of your concept record show the following cue:
Of course you were going to ask what simply clicking More does. this sends a non-FAST question to Exchange. Yes, Exchange Server supports both FAST and legacy Exchange Search functionality. The latter is still needed for backward compatibility with Perspective and earlier editions.
When Perspective released, the plan was to only support FAST look for on your primary mail box. However, beginning in the Fall of , you should see that any Exchange e-mail account included through File | Consideration Configurations (also known as Muleteer or several Exchange accounts) now fully supports FAST look for.
If you are limited to using a more mature develop of Perspective and look for in a Muleteer mail box, the FAST question may be submitted in the context of the logged on customer (you). This causes the look for outcomes to be pulled from your own mail box, not the secondary mail box that currently has the focus in your Perspective customer. If you are not able to upgrade your Perspective customer to the November Monthly Channel Build, you can temporarily deal with this limitation by using one of the following options:
- Change the look for opportunity to All Perspective Items, Sub folders, or All Mailboxes
- Disable Perspective’s use of FAST Panasonic Printer Support Number
look for via plan or local customer computer registry establishing (see the next section)
Note Other types of secondary stores, such as those included via Open these additional mail boxes or those that are instantly designed via Auto Mapping, are still limited to.
